UPS Business Monitor, LPI, Etc.
The UPS Business Monitor surveys executives across the globe to get insight into several key markets: Asia, Europe and The Americas. Surprisingly, in the most recent survey of European executives, the focus is clearly on western Europe (BE, FR, DE, IT, NL, ES, GB). I would be particularly interested in input from Russia, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary—each of which appeared in the 2006 results on a list of eight high-growth opportunities.
Similarly in the Latin American Business Monitor—neither Chile nor Argentina are polled. According to the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), Chile has the highest-performing logistics infrastructure in Latin America at 32. Argentina comes in at second with a 45 place finish world-wide. Both Brazil and Mexico, the two hot spots in Latin America, trail behind at 56 and 61 respectively. From the LPI:
The Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and its indicators provide the first in-depth cross-country assessment of the logistics gap among countries. Drawing on the first-hand knowledge of logistics professionals worldwide, it provides a comprehensive picture of supply chain performance—from customs procedures, logistics costs, and infrastructure quality to the ability to track and trace shipments, timeliness in reaching destination, and the competence of the domestic logistics industry.
